Southern Costa Blanca

Punta Prima, belongs to the municipality of Orihuela Costa and is the first of several resorts located south of Torrevieja. The center of Torrevieja is 4 km away. The beach promenade stretches from the south of the Nautilus restaurant to the Punta Prima Restaurant. In Punta Prima, there are shopping centers and several restaurant areas that have growing demand and are therefore being expanded. In the immediate area is Zenia Boulevard, one of Spain's largest shopping centers. The area has a mix of Spanish and international restaurants. We usually say that Spanish cuisine is as rich and temperamental as the Spaniards themselves! Many people think that food is a contributing factor to holidaying and living in Spain. Also located close by is the cozy La Florida Center with the immensely popular Waldemars and The Abbey Tavern restaurants, that definitely warrants a visit. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villamartin and Las Ramblas are just few minutes away.

Playa Flamenca, is an area with a lot of older buildings. Here you will find both villas, townhouses, and apartments. It is close to the largest gym in the entire area, Maxx Gym with glorious views of the sea. When you go down to the sea, you are met by several types of beaches, one of which one is intended for dogs. Away from the beach and on the other side of the N332 you will find the cozy La Florida center with the immensely popular Waldemars and The Abbey Tavern restaurants. We really recommend a visit there. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villa Martin and Las Ramblas are just a few minutes away by car. Every Saturday morning there is a market.

La Zenia, today is a truly lively area. Zenia Boulevard, one of Spain's largest shopping centers, with 150 shops, restaurants, and cafés, contributes to this factor. There is also a bowling alley and a casino. La Zenia has a very nice beach and a beach bar that is open all year. The beach is protected, which means that it is used all year round. On Christmas Day, there are usually gatherings of Englishmen and Spaniards on the beach to celebrate Christmas with music and a barbecue. Most people dress up as Santa, and the festivities run from early morning until well into the afternoon. From the beach all the way up to Zenia Boulevard, the streets are lined with everything from grocery stores, restaurants, and small shops. There is also Mc Donalds and a German restaurant with its own beer brewery, it is definitely worth a visit. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villamartin and Las Ramblas are just a few minutes away by car.

Villamartin, is a paradise for wintering Britons! Here you live a few kilometres from the sea, which makes the climate during the winter fantastically nice. The area is home to a wonderful mix of Spaniards and families from a wide range of other European nations. By car you can reach Zenia Boulevard in a few minutes, a shopping center with 150 shops and restaurants and cafes. The area is a bit of an “El Dorado” for golf lovers. Here you can reach 3 golf courses within 5 minutes by car. Another 2 courses are a couple of minutes away. One of them is Las Colinas, which is one of the coast's most exclusive courses and has been named Spain's best golf course for a full 5 years in a row. Villamartin has 2 "centers". In the northern part we have Villamartin Plaza. A Spanish courtyard square with restaurants on 2 floors and shops around. In the southern part we find La Fuente. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and even a grocery store. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villa Martin and Las Ramblas are just a few minutes away by car.

Los Dolses, is a fast growing area on the Orihuela Costa. Many of the best and most popular builders have chosen to establish themselves right here. It is located between Villamartin and La Zenia. Here you are close to most golf courses, the shopping center of La Zenia and many of Orihuela's fine beaches. In Los Dolses there is a shopping center, with mainly restaurants, there is also a good grocery store in the area and several good restaurants. The market in Playa Flamenca, which is held on Saturdays, is just a stone's throw away. The Villamartin plaza with its restaurants is also within walking distance and so is Zenia Boulevard with more than 150 shops / restaurants. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villa Martin and Las Ramblas are just a few minutes away by car.

Lomas de Cabo Roig, is an area where a lot is still being built. A new business center has recently sprung up with many restaurants and bars and a new supermarket. You have within walking distance the La Fuente center and Los Dolses, so you can really vary your restaurant visits a lot. The area is best suited for those who like a slightly calmer environment and who appreciate nature close by, as there are countless walking trails here. You also have the Playa La Glea with its nice restaurants and bars, it is only a few minutes by car, so it is never far either to go shopping (5 min Zenia Boulevard) or to beach. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villa Martin and Las Ramblas are just few minutes away by car.

Cabo Roig, is a sought after area located by the sea on the southern Costa Blanca. The long restaurant street offers food and drink for all tastes. There are also several shops that stock everything from clothes to food. Cabo Roig is known for its beautiful, blue-flagged sandy beaches. Blue flag marks service, safety, and environmental protection. The beaches also have restaurants where you can also rent sunbeds and parasols. At the Cala Galeta beach there is a marina with over 200 ship berths. This beach is a bit special as it is usually sheltered from the wind and much warmer in winter than other beaches. Along the cozy promenade, you can head north towards Torrevieja or south towards Torre de la Horadada. There are also other nice beaches along the route. The old watchtower, Torre Vigia de Cabo Roig, is located by the harbor and was used to detect pirate attacks in the 18th century. The tower is now part of a restaurant overlooking the harbor. Golf courses such as Campoamor, Villamartin and Las Ramblas are just a few minutes away by car.

Campoamor, is a sought-after area located by the sea on the southern Costa Blanca. It offers restaurants with good food and drink for all tastes. San Pedro del Pinatar, with its 25,000 inhabitants, is the first resort south of the province of Alicante. The city lives all year round and is today a popular place for both permanent residents and holidaymakers. Here you will find a city center, cozy parks, and restaurants. In Lo Pagan, which today has grown together with the city, there are the popular clay baths where the clay is said to have wonderful healing effects for the body. The long beaches and marvelous promenades are all to be appreciated. There are many places to stay to enjoy a coffee or a bite to eat. On the other side of the national park is the Mediterranean Sea and a lovely sandy beach

Lo Pagan, is the northernmost resort in the Mar Menor and borders San Pedro. These places have basically grown simultaneously. The resort is best known for its mud baths where the clay is said to be healthy and have a healing effect against certain ailments. Along the cozy beach there is a walkway that offers relaxing walks or jogging trips. Restaurants are plenty on this walkway and at the bottom is the marina with its "yacht club" where you can enjoy an evening drink, afternoon coffee or a good dinner. If you continue past the mud baths along the nice walkway & cycling path, you will find yourself after a long walk or bike ride close to the northern part of La Manga, you will be only a few hundred meters from the whole road. If you round the cape, you will find a long, fine sandy beach where you can swim in the Mediterranean. During the summer months, water games and activities are offered in the inland sea.

Santiago de la Ribera, is a cozy coastal town on the northern Mar Menor. The city belongs to the Region of Murcia and the municipality of San Javier. The long beach goes all the way up to Lo Pagan and its beach. Along the beach is a popular walking trail where both residents and tourists roam. Restaurants, cafes, and palm trees are located along the promenade. Initially, this was a small fishing village that has now grown into one of the most popular resorts on mar Menor. From here you can take a boat across the calm inland sea to La Manga. The inland sea normally maintains a higher temperature and higher salinity than the Mediterranean, which contributes to wonderful swimming trips on the long beach. On the outskirts of the city, you will find "Dos Mares" which is a large shopping center with both grocery and other shops as well as restaurants and cinemas etc. Every year, the flight school has a show, and this usually means many hours of practice which can be watched from a deck chair on the beach of Santiago de la Ribera.

San Javier, with just over 30,000 inhabitants, belongs to the Murcia region. In the city you will find all the services needed for a pleasant holiday stay or if you choose to stay here full time. The flat terrain provides good conditions for getting around by bike if you prefer to leave the car at home. Santiago de la Ribera, which belongs to the municipality and is only a few kilometers away and offers long beaches with restaurants and bars along the promenades on the Mar Menor.

Los Alcázares, belongs to the region of Murcia. With its more than 15,000 inhabitants, you experience a cozy small town feeling here. With its long central street where the restaurants are like pearl ribbons along the sides, you can wander around and find your own favorites. There are also plenty of grocery stores and all other services. Explore the history of the resort and enjoy the warm waters of the inland sea along the long beach. Several golf courses are only a few minutes away. The old town of Cartagena has a long and rich history and is only 20 km south. It is well worth a visit.

Mil Palmeras, is located along the coast and belongs to the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada. The town has been a popular tourist destination since the 80s. A few kilometers inland is the municipality's capital, Pilar de la Horadada. A genuinely charming Spanish town with about 22,000 inhabitants. Mil Palmeras offers one of the finest beaches on the coast that has also received blue flags, which most of the beaches on the southern Costa Blanca have. The EU gives the blue flag to beaches that meet the requirements of water quality, safety, and environmental information. During the summer months, most of the beaches are staffed with so-called "socorristas" - lifeguards from Cruz Roja. (Red Cross). On the beach there are bars / cafes that offer the possibility to rent sun loungers and parasols. Directly adjacent to the beach is the picturesque restaurant street. The pedestrian street has restaurants, cafes, and small shops. Alicante Airport is approximately 45 minutes away by car.

Torre de la Horadada, is one of the coastal resorts in the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada. The town got its name from the old watchtower that was built in the 16th century to protect the coast from the pirates who ravaged the Mediterranean. As early as Roman times, Torre de la Horadada was an important coastal town. The resort has a fantastic promenade with several nice beaches and also a small marina. There are many restaurants around the square and here is the natural gathering place. For the Spaniards, the resort is popular as a holiday resort. In the southern part is the longer Higuerica beach. Several of the beaches have the blue EU flag that the EU gives to states that meet the requirements for water quality, safety and environmental information. To the south, Torre de la Horadada borders San Pedra del Pinatar.

Pilar de la Horadada, the city has just over 20,000 inhabitants. Here the Spaniards thrive and live permanently all year round. Pilar is the capital of the municipality, which also consists of the seaside resorts of Mil Palmeras and Torre de la Horadada. Pilar de la Horadada is a vibrant city all year round and there is opportunity to thrive here! The city has many grocery stores, shops and all other services you may need. The restaurant selection is large and varied, there are also several bars. Alicante Airport is less than an hour away.

Guardamar, is a genuinely nice, and small Spanish town with a nice calm pace when you want to relax and just be. Here are plenty of shops and restaurants and every week there is a big market in the middle of town. The market offers a wide range of clothing, shoes, fruits, and vegetables. The people are nice and accommodating. Guardamar is known for its enormously long fine white sandy beach and its cozy parks. Along the more than 10 km long beach there is a good selection of beach bars to be able to have a coffee or a refreshing drink. The airport is only about 25 minutes away.

Santa Pola del Este, has for many years been Spain's favorite vacation spot. There are several different beaches and a pace that is difficult to find. At the same time, you live within walking distance to the city of Santa Pola which is active all year round. Santa Pola has about 34,000 inhabitants. More and more people are finding their way to this genuine fishing village, which in recent years has had a completely new district built down by the harbor. Many nice restaurants can be found there. In the City Center you experience the genuine Spanish city life and there is a traditional market twice a week. Santa Pola is popular with bird watchers who, among other things, can view thousands of flamingos that live in the shallow salt lakes. Wind and kite surfers also enjoy and appreciate the beaches of Santa Pola. There are good bus routes to Alicante in the north and Cartagena in the south. Alicante Airport is just 15 minutes away.
